East Belfast will soon witness the demolition of one of its landmark buildings on the Newtownards Road, as the redevelopment plans of the East Belfast Mission take effect.

In preparation for redevelopment, much work has already taken place and lead to the uncovering of an old graveyard. The remains of more than 100 were removed from the site and are in the keeping of a local funeral directors until building work is complete, when the remains will be returned to a designated memorial within the new site.

The church has also held a special service as a mark of respect, before the commencement of the substantial building works.
