| One Is Going To Have A Diamond Holiday
Business Secretary today announced that Britons are to
receive an additional bank holiday in 2012, in honour of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
Lord Mandelson announced that the holiday is to be given on Tuesday the 5th June 2010 and further announced that the late May bank holiday, will also be moved to Monday June 4th, affording workers a 'special' four day break, for those fortunate enough not to work weekends.
Keeping pace with tradition, there will also be a Diamond
Jubilee Medal to mark the Queen's 60th year on the throne. The Queen's celebrated her:
1. Silver Jubilee - 1977
2. Golden Jubilee - 2002
3. Diamond Jubilee - 2012 (God Willing)
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second will be only the second British Monarch to celebrate 60 years on the throne, the only other being Queen Victoria in the year 1897.
