Political News:
In a month when we have seen MP's branded crooks, the speaker of the House of Commons appears to have lost good
judgment, seeking to trace through a police investigation, the person who leaked the
expense claims to the Daily Telegraph, rather than seeking a criminal investigation into the claims
themselves.
Michael Martin who is now so out of touch with public opinion and MP's electoral fears now faces a motion of no confidence. Although, reports indicate that the speaker cannot be sacked and must either retire or die.
It is a scandal that he would attempt to rebuke a whistleblower, for disclosing material which lawyers now believe may constitute in at least one case criminal conduct, when it is he that should have reported suspicious behaviour to the
police.....

.....So often with people in positions or trust and
power, the blame lies with everyone else but themselves,
gone are the days when honourable men would have fallen
on their swords and resigned their position in shame.
Rather the reputation of parliament will continue to
suffer while they fight out the terms of his
demise.
The Speaker is clearly wrong to pursue at taxpayers
expense, claims which he indicated were to be made
public in the summer and it is shameful that he would cloak this
disclosure a some huge breach in data protection, when it
is his party which has presided over numerous breaches
in the keeping of our data. Is the Speaker of the House
of Commons saying that where an employee comes across
information which could constitute criminal conduct he
should withhold it, I hope not, it is every mans duty to
disclose in which ever way possible information which is
either criminal or could constitute criminal misconduct.
This month has seen a further 15,000 to lose their jobs at BT, has seen
recession fears worsen and has seen the Speaker of the House of Commons shamed
by attacking others for failings in his own office. It's time for the Speaker to
Shut-Up, Pack-Up and Go.
