Political News:
Election season has well and truly
begun for the mud is being slung and most of it is at
the ill fated British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. The
latest allegations to hit the national press are that Mr.
Brown is a Bully and that he bullied staff within Number
Ten. The Prime Minister's, aides, friends and spin
doctors ran to his aid, but with so many lies under
their belt, it seems the British public don't believe a
word they say.
The headlines became worse with
the founder of a national anti-bullying charity
indicating that some staff within Number 10, had called
the help-line seeking advice for bullying they had
received at the hands of the Prime Minister. The bureaucratic
civil service machine retorted that there are internal
policies in place to deal with such complaints and that
none had been received. Whilst others question whether
the head of this charity broke confidentiality with her
vague declaration, we question the purpose of the policy
flagged up by Downing Street. Whilst everyone may
recognise that it works for the majority of staff at
lower grades, what conceivably would have happened if
such a complaint had been made against the Prime
Minister, would he have be sacked? No, would he have his
personnel file noted? No, in truth nothing would have
happened to the alleged bully, but what about the
complainant? In truth the victim from the outset, would
again be victimised by being transferred to another
office, by having a reputation follow them, by losing
career opportunities.
No-one really knows whether the
allegations made in the press are true or false, whether
they are electioneering or payback, but with the
Chancellor now entering the fray indicating that Downing
Street aides unleashed 'hell' against him, it makes you
think.
It seems that once again New
Labour are Britain's Greatest Danger and that they often
stand accused of breaking the policies and laws they
created
