It's
Time To Put A Big Kiss
X
Beside Your Candidate
Only a few
days to go until, the General Election and for
once eyes are not turned to the poll on the
mainland, interesting though that might be, but
to the outcome of the election right here in
Northern Ireland.
So far we'd had
hostile words between the parties, threats of
legal action, requests for court orders, leaders
debates, phone calls offering seats, unity
candidates and even candidates in tactical
withdrawals.
Come the count,
will anything really change, will the electorate
change their vote, stay at home or take fright at
the Ballot box and vote more of the same. Northern
Ireland politics has traditionally been along what
many regard as religious lines, but it is the
parties themselves that have raised issues such as
water rates, so will you change your vote based on
everyday issues, or will you still vote to keep
the other party out?
Northern
Ireland saw campaigning start early with the SDLP
and the Ulster Unionists putting up plaque cards
before an election was even announced, but perhaps
it is this Ulster Unionists plaque card in East
Belfast (above) that best describes this whole
election, upside down!
Will you change
your vote to the Ulster Unionist, or is it all
'Empey' promises to you, will you change to the
Alliance Party or are you frightened they might
expense a wall to sit on, will you vote SF now but
only in South Belfast, will you vote TUV or can
Jim not fix it for you, will you vote DUP or have
you been duped before or will you vote to make
Margaret more Richie than she is now....will you
vote at all?
In a few days
time, you'll be spoilt for choice, you will be
able to put a big kiss beside your selected
candidate. Don't Forget:
1. Your
Photographic ID
2. Its an 'X' in this election
What do you
think, come Friday Morning, will we still be
'Polls Apart'?
