| The Dangers of Flying
Most people when they fly away on holiday are care free, placing all their cares to one side, trusting that those involved both directly and indirectly in their plans do everything to ensure a
successful holiday.
Imagine then, traveling to Slovenia enjoying a holiday and returning to Dublin only to find that you are now facing explosive charges or worse.
Imagine having to explain how 90g of explosive ended up in your case, imagine being arrested,
being questioned, imagine contemplating court and a huge term of imprisonment....
Imagine finding out that the Slovak Authorities were the ones to have planted the explosives in your luggage without your knowledge or consent in order to test their own security system...
Imagine if they hadn't confessed to the Irish that it was they that had planted the explosives.
Imagine No Longer! For today saw the Irish police admit that they have released a 49 year old man arrested over an explosives find which they now know were planted last weekend in his luggage at Bratislava Airport, as part of a security test by the Slovak Authorities.
Reports suggest that the Slovak
Authorities state the trial as successful and that the
explosives were uncovered by the trial they merely
forgot to remove them from the luggage, but what is
worse a system that doesn't detect the explosives or one
that does and still allows it to get onto the aircraft.
It would appear that the only comfort the Slovak
Authorities can take from this incident is that the
Irish Authorities failed to discover it as
well and that the man concerned along with his luggage
made it through their systems, and was only arrested
several days later following their admission.
Imagine going on your Christmas holidays and facing prison for a Christmas present planted on you,
by those you holidayed with.
