Ireland's No Vote is Ignored
by European Union
One of the greatest problems with the European Union is the lack
of a common language and this became evident in the wake of the
Irish Referendum on the Lisbon Treaty. This language barrier
caused other European States to think the Irish meant Yes when
they said No and they vowed to continue with the Treaty's
ratification.
Even the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown had trouble with
the translation and I am lead to believe he speaks fluent
English. Of course, we must remember that His government also
had difficulty in interpreting and implementing the Labour
Government's promise to hold a referendum on the very same
issue.
Yes, it has to be the language barrier for it would be unimaginable
to contemplate that Europe had become so totalitarian, as to
banish our democratic right to be heard, whilst actively
contriving behind the scenes to find ways in which to manipulate
the Irish into surrender.
The European Union has another huge problem, its integrity
and it is this issue that lead to millions all around Europe
distrusting it and it's politicians. It appears that if Europe doesn't like the answer to a
question or a referendum, it will either ignore it or manipulate it
and likewise with the promised British Referendum: if you know
the answer the British people will give you but you don't want
to recognise it, simple, don't formally ask the question in a referendum.
It is ironic that Ulster who stated categorically 'Ulster
says No' to closer Irish unity, would now be thanking those
neighbours for taking their stand for democracy in Europe.
Gordon Brown's Labour Government has continued to ratify this
Treaty, with it passing the final stages last week but in
winning this small victory he has guaranteed his Labour
colleagues a lifetime in opposition, for Briton's rarely retreat
when our sovereignty is attacked. The Lisbon Treaty will be
remembered for many reasons: the denial of democracy in Europe,
the spin and the lies and as the final nail in the coffin of
this Labour Government and it's Leader Gordon Brown.
History will not be kind to you Mr. Brown, for it is we
that intend to write it!
