Kiss Goodbye To Your Holiday
Travel firm 'Flight Options' which launched in 1995 has ceased trading. The company posted a statement on their website which read: "As of 1700hrs on 17 August the Flight Options group of companies have ceased trading. "The Civil Aviation Authority have been informed and we are awaiting further advice on the situation."
The company which owns 'Kiss Flights' is the latest victim in the travel industry company. The firm sold flights to destinations such as Greece, Egypt, Turkey and the Canary Islands and have been reassured by the CAA that they will be flown home as arranged.
In addition, holidaymakers departing before 6pm on Wednesday the 18th August 2010 can fly out as normal as the CAA have confirmed arrangements are in place for their holidays and return journeys. The collapse has effected tens of thousands of holidaymakers but the CAA has stated that the 'vast majority' of bookings would be
refunded (those that were Atol
protected).
Flight Options & Kiss are the latest victims, last week Sun4U collapsed, with Goldtrail collapsing just last month. IN total there have been 13 travel firms to have gone bust in the UK this year alone.
The real question
is just how many more failures are ahead
and how many more travel victims there
will be before the economy recovers.
