Autumn Fair Returns To Botanic Gardens This September

Belfast’s beautiful Botanic Gardens will be buzzing with free family fun on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September as the city’s seasonal favourite Autumn Fair returns.

The top event runs from 12.30pm to 6pm each day and young and old will be treated to lots of fun filled activities, live music and dance, yummy food and more.

Younger visitors are invited to embrace this beautiful season with activities certain to attract the family vote. Get arty in the park, have your face painted, challenge yourself on the climbing wall, go for a hole-in-one at the crazy-golf course, or why not laugh along with the captivating and must-see street performers?

For adults, there’ll be a mix of contemporary and old-time favourites to get the toes tapping all weekend as well as the Grand Finale Band Concert, the pinnacle of the council’s summer Music in the Parks programme taking place on Sunday 17 September between 2pm-5pm.

Inside the tented village, visitors can marvel at spectacular award-winning floral exhibits, giant vegetables and other crops from local allotments, gardens and greenhouses, as well as from beehives and wine cellars.

Visit a variety of stalls around the park selling an array of local foods and home baked produce, handmade crafts, jewellery, plants and more.

Belfast Lord Mayor, Councillor Nuala McAllister, encouraged all ages from near and far to come down and enjoy the Autumn Fair.

“It’s sad to see the end of Summer, but the Autumn Fair is a great way to look forward to the next season and enjoy one of our most fantastic parks.

“We get to celebrate the best that nature has produced as well as all the fun of the fair in terms of entertainment, street performers and shows, live music and activities to entertain young and old. Best of all – it’s entirely free and open for everyone to enjoy.”
