Opportunities Knock At Belfast Job Fair

Belfast City Council, in partnership with the Department for Communities, is hosting a major job fair in the city next week.

The Belfast Job Fair will take place in the Europa Hotel on Tuesday 21 February (10am to 3pm) with more than 70 employers expected to take part from a range of sectors including retail, hospitality, care, financial services and manufacturing.

The free event is open to everyone where they will get the chance to meet prospective employers face-to-face, speak to careers advisers and get help with writing CVs or doing interviews for a job.

Lord Mayor Alderman Brian Kingston, who will open the fair, said: “Belfast City Council is delighted to be working with the Department for Communities to deliver the Belfast Job Fair.

“In developing our Community Plan for the city, the Belfast Agenda, local people informed us one of the most important priorities for the city was access to employment opportunities and jobs. Local businesses also stressed the importance of having access to local talent with the right combination of skills and attributes to meet their labour market needs.

“The Belfast Job Fair will bring these strands together. It will be a chance for people to see what jobs are available and gain support to move into employment. It will also give employers the opportunity to tell people about their organisation and the employment opportunities that will be available.

“I would encourage as many people as possible to visit the Belfast Job Fair at the Europa next Tuesday,” he added.
